I Missed Christmas!

I missed Christmas this year.

Joy came to the world

But forgot to knock on my door.

I didn't jingle any bells in cheer.

"Dear Santa", is all my letter read.

No candies, or toys or wishes did I ask for

No red socks hung in my living room.

No mistletoe, candy cane or tiny knick-knacks.

I didn't sing no carols,

I didn't bake no gingerbread.

People out there were buying presents.

I didn't even wear something remotely red.

I went to the church

And prayed with an empty heart.

I missed Christmas this year

Just hope He doesn't forget me, Santa Claus.
